Ski Lessons
Group lessons are sociable and offer good value for money especially for children when they act as a child care service while you can get some hard skiing in. You can expect that for the average not very fit or brave beginner after a week’s group class you should be confident of skiing nursery and green runs and attempting easy blues.
Private Lessons
These are more expensive but better value for money. After six hours (three days) of private instruction you should have progressed from the nursery slopes and be skiing from the top to the bottom of Mont d’Arbois a long green run the length of a cable car and looking to venture onto those blue runs.
It’s not just beginners who should consider lessons
Everyone hits a plateau in their skiing at some point and seeing a professional can iron out many problems in only one or two hour’s private instruction. Anyone who remembers side stepping up in a long line, being told to bend ze knees or has not had some instruction in the last two years will benefit from a sneaky hour with their own personal instructor. This is guaranteed to have better results than buying a new posy ski suit that really will not improve your skiing but could potentially make you stand out in the crowd for the wrong reasons.
Group Lessons
We get no benefit from recommending instruction except for the happy feedback from our guests
Our 2nd choice is the Ecole de Ski International for both group and individual lessons as their classes are restricted to 6 and they have more accomplished “English Speakers”. Plus they do not give the most senior instructors priority and from a visual point of view in their Prada ski suits and sunglasses offer far more value for money plus the office is exceptionally helpful.
Ecole de Ski Francais is preferred by our son, who is French speaking, mostly because he beat a Ferrari not the car but the grandchild or great- grandchild of the great Enzo at race club.
