Megeve is an excellent place to learn to ski. Roped off nursery slopes prevent boy racers careering past the beginner classes. Just the learners will be causing mayhem amongst their peers. At most nursery slopes escalators carry all but the most daydreaming hopefuls safely to the top of the slopes with only a small pile up hazard at the top to cope with.

There are a few button lifts to earn your spurs as you progress from the nursery slopes although most of the lifts are padded chairs. With lots of gentle green and blue runs your confidence will soar and you will soon be skiing around the mountain and able to reach and ski down from some of the many wonderful higher altitude mountain restaurants.
On some of the harder runs buttons lifts remain to deter snow boarders and keep the best snow for those who will appreciate it.
For those who want steep and deep Mont Joly has lots to offer with mogul fields, tricky couloirs a steep bowl complete with cornice and interesting technical sections through the trees. If the skiing doesn’t get you the long cold chair just might!

Megeve has runs to suit skiers of every ability from beginners through blue cruisers to off-piste beasts
Winter Zone
With a wide selection of red runs and some wonderfully groomed black runs plus a few mogul slopes that you can attempt and if necessary bail out onto the velvety smooth pistes before having another go. Ski from Jaillet all the way to Giettaz or from Cote 2000 round through the Caboche and onto St Nicholas there is a vast area to explore with many small villages that offer wonderfully laid back restaurants.
